General Features of the Bettico 16 Channel Sensor Signal Interface
- 12 volt DC powered, reverse connection protected
- Provides two 40-pin IDC Ribbon cable headers for connection to A to D adapter
- Provides one 40-pin IDC Ribbon cable header featuring 16 conditioned analog voltage signals proportional to sensor signals for connection to an analog input device such as a stand alone-strip chart recorder
- 16 sensor input channels, configured for customer requirements – typically 8 analog and 8 rate channels, 4/12 and 6/10 variations immediately available
- Features of each analog sensor input channel:
- Accepts 4 to 20 milliamp sensor signal, current source or current sink
- Provides 24 volts transmitter excitation power, current limited
- Provides RFI and EMI filtering
- Provides conditioned, zero-offset 4 to 20 milliamp repeater signal outputs for connecting additional devices
- Provides front panel sensor zero control
- Provides front panel log/calibrate selection switch to allow operator to simulate zero and full scale sensor conditions in the calibrate position or real sensor signals in the log position
- Provides precision 4 and 20 milliamp reference signals for calibration purposes via a front panel lo-cal/hi-cal selection switch
- Features of each frequency sensor input channel:
- Accepts 0 to 2,000 pulses-per-second (Hz) input signals
- Provides two-wire RFI and EMI filtering
- Provides differential noise canceling
- Provides both power supply and optical signal isolation between the sensor and the system to prevent interference between systems connected to a sensor
- Provides conditioned pulse type repeater signal outputs for connecting additional devices
- Provides front panel log/calibrate selection switch to allow operator to simulate zero and full scale sensor conditions in the calibrate position or real sensor signals in the log position
- Provides precision low (0 Hz) and up to 2,000 Hz reference signals for calibration purposes via a front panel lo-out/hi-in calibration/level selection switch. The “hi” reference signal value is determined by the setting of 4 front panel digital selector switches that allow the operator to simulate practically any full-scale process value sensor signal frequency. (Frequency = 250,000/switches’ value)
- Provides signal level discrimination selection via the front panel lo-out/hi-in calibration/level selection switch. The lo-out position is for tach generator signals and discriminates against low level signals while the hi-in position engages a high gain amplifier to allow detection of magnetic pickup level signals.
